Sometimes you have to lower your expectations. I wrote nearly 2000 words today. Is it a personal best, no. But that’s still a LOT of words for about 3 hours of on-and-off writing. It’s something to be proud of. I’m still in the running I didn’t give up, I’m still fighting. That is the important part.
How are you guys doing? Still fighting? Even if you’re only at 5,000 words, KEEP WRITING! Words are Words!
I’m 3 days behind instead of 4 so that’s a positive at least, I think.
GOOD LUCK AS OF THE HALFWAY POINT GUYS!
I keep reminding myself that I’ve never lost NaNo and I DO NOT INTEND FOR THIS YEAR TO BE THE BEGINNING!
I SHALL CONQUER YOU, NANOWRIMO!!!
So, I didn’t do as well but I have hope that tomorrow will turn out okay!
Thanks guys for all the support yesterday!
Hey, it was a good day. I’m still not up to par, but I think 4,000 words in one day is pretty decent. Especially since I didn’t actually start writing until nightfall.
How are you guys doing???
Yoooo, I’m getting shit done, bitches!!!
Also I’m off tomorrow, THANK YOU FEDERAL HOLIDAYS, so YAY!
I’m getting progressively further behind, but it’s also a 3 day weekend so like I can totally make time up later.
I AM STAYING POSITIVE! YOU SHOULD TO!
I didn’t really write anything, I finished some dialogue last night after midnight. I had my late day at work (I work at a bank and we alternate Fridays to work until 5:30 instead of 5), and then we went out to dinner, and then I had to nap so I could stay up from 2:40 until like 8am watching figure skating because Japan is very far away and I’m devoted to this sport.
But like the title says, am I comfortable with how far behind I am? No. Did I once start at like 7pm to write a 15 page term paper for my English degree and finish it at 7:30am – research included because I lost all my saved research – and still make an A on it when I presented it at noon that day? YEP!
I work best under pressure. Probably around day 20 I’ll be writing my ass off every free minute of my day and make an 8,000 word a day comeback.
I once wrote 131,000 words in 5 weeks. I can do this. I’m confident about that. I’ve never ‘lost’ NaNoWriMo and I don’t plan on starting this year.
I’m just lazy. I’m super lazy. That’s what it is. I wrote. I just didn’t know where to go with what I wrote. DON’T JUDGE ME OKAY I AM TRYING!
So, I didn’t write yesterday because it was voting day and I was glued to the TV all night, but TODAY I MADE GOOD GROUND! Sure, I didn’t catch up, but I came closer than I expected to get. I’m still well in reach of par!
This weekend, like last weekend, is a Figure Skating weekend. If you don’t know, I’m such a big fan of figure skating that I will absolutely stay up 28 hours because the figure skating is in Japan and it’s at 2am-8am and I have to leave at 8am to get to work at 8:30 but the free skate is at the same times the next night. I work 9-5 so I have totally watched figure skating without sound at work where my boss thinks I’m just staring into space in my cubicle. (Spoiler alert, it isn’t as good without the music, lol)
However, I’ve made up a plan! This time, the short programs are, as I suggested above, Thursday/Friday night in the early AM hours. And the Frees are in the same hours Friday/Saturday night. (I call it ‘Friday night’ even if it’s 5am Saturday morning because I haven’t been asleep yet). What I’m doing this time is getting a goodnight’s sleep and skipping the short, watching those online after work, then taking a nap (if possible) and staying up until God knows when to watch the free skates. *nods*
Japan is easily the hardest hours for figure skating live streams.
HOWEVER, between the two disciplines I’m interested in this weekend, there’s PLENTY Of opportunity to write! I can WRITE between ladies and men’s! It’s a great idea!
I’m totally gonna be caught up by Monday and probably even AHEAD of par!
How are you doing these days? GOOD LUCK!
