NaNoWriMo Day 7: Still Not Entirely Green But Moving Forward

I made up a lot of ground tonight, though I still had to force it out, so I’m feeling good about my chances of catching up to the line again tomorrow.

I’ve reached a turn in the plot today. Nothing major, but whereas I had no idea what was waiting at the end of the shuttle ride I spent all last night writing, I now have a name for a new character and the beginnings of an idea on where to go from here. I still have no clue where the main arc of the story is going, not in the details, but so far I’ve just been writing it as it comes to me and it is working sorta okay.

I keep having to remind myself that this is Science Fiction so it’s gonna be a longer story than I’m used to, probably. I don’t have to rush into things. For now, I’m keeping my writing going and I really think that tomorrow I’ll be able to catch up to the line again. I’m only 700-ish words behind and on a good writing day, that’s a 15 minute Word Sprint. I’ll be caught up easily if I can focus.

How is it going for you guys? Anybody else behind, too?
