NaNoWriMo Day 2: Staying Green… Barely

Day 2 of NaNoWriMo and I’m doing okay! Look at that, guys, green again! I may not be exceeding, but as long as I can keep it in the green (or within close reach of the green) I’m feeling good about my first time ever trying to participate with a full time job. I was really worried, not only about my job, but also about how little sleep I’ve been getting already. I’ve been exhausted pretty much constantly since I started this job in July, but as long as I’m able to keep it up, I’m thinking I’ll be okay for NaNo!

One thing I do worry about, however, is that though I’m writing the story, I’m still not sure of most of my important details. Who is after this dude? Why? Who is is father? Why is his father an important enough person to have folks kidnap his kids, especially the 20 year old adult son? Were they gonna ransom them? What is Sylas’s dark past I’ve been hinting at so far? Where the hell are either of them from? What are their backgrounds?

Literally I have NO background on anybody in this story. I just know Edan Toft is the son of General Toft, his sister’s name is Jexa, he was kidnapped by some people, Sylas saved him from being murdered and ended up having to go on the run with him, and right now, Sylas has some plan on where to go since people are clearly hunting them. That’s it. That’s all I know. I’m making it up as I go along. Which isn’t unusual for me, but usually I at least have SOME idea of what is coming next.

Oh well, wish me luck for tomorrow’s write since today’s pushed the edges of what story details I already knew!
