This week was hard. In a lot of ways. Early in the week, nerves from the election, then minor freakout from the election results, and then doing things I’d neglected in my post-election-freak out, and then yesterday I accidentally slept 12 hours (it isn’t my fault my body has no natural sleep rhythm so if my alarm fails I don’t wake up!!! I once slept 16 hours because of a power outage and nobody being home all day to wake me up.) and ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT I have committed a cardinal sin of NaNoWriMo….
I’ve gotten hooked on not one, but TWO anime’s this week. I’ve spent a good 4 hours on Crunchyroll the past two days. Between school and work and anime, I’ve written basically nothing all week. I’m now a solid like 10k behind or something.
HOWEVER! I WILL NOT GIVE UP!
I’m still positive I can pull it out. Like I told someone, I once wrote 131,000 words (no that isn’t a typo) in 1 month. 28 days to be exact. I also wrote 60,000 words in 3 weeks more recently, and 40,000 words in a week and a half most recently RIGHT before NaNoWriMo started.
I’ve got this. Once I get into my story, I’m golden. I can make up the 10k I’m behind in two days easy. I already did it once, I wrote over 5,000 words in one day last weekend. I can do it again tomorrow. I’m fine. There’s still a LOT of NaNoWriMo to go.
Hopefully you all are doing better than I am!
Not to add fuel to the fire, but… which ones? I recently started watching Yuri!! on Ice and Girlish number along with re-watching Revolutionary Girl Utena with some friends 😛

HA! Yuri!!! on ice is TOTALLY one of them! Everybody’s talking about that one so I had to. I also started watching Free! since someone recommended it in with a lot of sports anime, and currently I’m watching Antique Bakery because someone said “It’s like a soap opera” and wow were they right. SO OVER THE TOP DRAMATIC! I mean you’ve got a guy who was kidnapped as a child and opened a bakery because all he remembers about the trauma is that in his nightmares he’s being forced to eat cake cause his kidnapper loved cake, and you’ve got a weird romance between this slutty dude and this sweet server, and there was some violence thrown in there… it’s like something off of As The World Turns in there! hahaha. The art is beautiful and its trashy like a soap opera. I’m hooked!

wow that sounds like something else. I was actively avoiding Yuri!!! on Ice because I felt personally scorned that it has yuri in the title but no lesbians to speak of. Actually I left behind BL/yaoi as an entire genre a few years ago because I was annoyed with the harmful tropes that run rampant in the genre and bored with the genre’s habit of skipping to the sex part within the first two episodes. But a friend of mine wanted me to watch it really badly, so I finally gave the first few episodes a try. It’s pretty good, but honestly the lack of female characters (AND LESBIANS!!!) is kind of making me less excited to continue, lol.

I dont watch anime but as an outsider, it’s great! I love figure skating so that’s why I gave it a shot, and now I just want more of this awesome art! The animation styles are so varied and so cool!
